Very Fast Paced and Exciting Adventure with Chimps

9 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari, Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk

Chimpanzee Trekking in Rwanda.

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is known as one of the top wildlife experiences in the world. But they are not the only apes to see in Rwanda. It is one of the places in the world where you can see both gorillas and wild chimpanzees.

rwanda safarisIn so many ways, tracking chimps is very different from the mountain gorilla tracking in Rwanda volcanoes national park and gorilla trekking in Uganda Bwindi impenetrable forest experience.

Dissimilarly from the mountain gorillas in Rwanda, the chimps are always moving around and at high speeds, jumping from tree to tree while making noise.

The chimpanzees are the most famous primates and attractive wildlife in Nyungwe forest national park.

The main challenge with these chimpanzees is with finding them, as they are not so habituated and are always shy, also their human characters are so strong and they show a lot of curiosity and the eagerness when the tourists are around.

Chimpanzees share 98% human DNA. This makes the Rwanda tour about chimps more exciting especially when these apes display what their human behavior.

Chimp trekking is so fast paced and so exciting and this makes it more of the adventure than gorilla safari tours.

Since there are paths through the denser forests and discovering them on one’s own this also makes it more exciting.

A chimpanzee trekking permit costs USD100 and there are like 64 permits per day that are issued in Rwanda for chimp trekking and only 8 people per day for chimpanzee tracking. Therefore, it’s advisable to book these permits well in advance and a year is not too soon.

Considering Rwanda for the chimps adventure is financially more friendly than that of mountain gorillas and it’s an option that one will not regret about.

However, there are people that come to Rwanda and bump into the gorillas as they travel in the forest. It is not a guarantee seeing this happening but if one lucky it’s very possible.

If you have an interest in a safari that includes the primates, please contact Uganda safari news.
