Ruhija Gorilla Safari Lodge

Ruhija gorilla safari lodge is the perfect sleepover point for tourists on Mountain Gorilla Tracking Safaris in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Lodging is offered in rooms which resemble the environment and aptly present African architecture. The lodge has eight (8) en-suite cottages, which look into the resource rich Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

These include six (6) standard rooms whose total capacity is twelve (12) people; four (4) deluxe rooms with the capacity to accommodate up to eight (8) people in twin sharing and four (4) superior rooms which can accommodate a maximum of eight (8) people in twin sharing.

Outstanding chalet accommodation is defined by elements like the comfortable rooms, a hair drier, and access to clean bathrooms which have hot and cold water for a fine shower.

The lodge also has a well-stocked bar, a spacious dining area, free Wi-Fi internet, DSTV, fine dining, a mini but well-stocked library and entertainment from traditional African dancers.

• All rates include Value Added Tax (VAT) but exclude the park entrance fees which are paid to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
• Meals are provided at 20 US$ for breakfast and 25 US$ for lunch and dinner.
• Children under the age of three (3) are hosed for free.
• Children between the age of 3 and 12 are charged 50% of what the Adults pay.
• Children above the age of 12 and sleeping in their rooms will pay a rate equal to what adults pay.

Ruhija Gorilla Mist Camp

Ruhija Gorilla Mist Camp is situated about 50km from Buhoma (2 ½ hours) by road. It is one of Bwindi’s smaller camps accommodating guests in four (4) grass thatched cottages that focus their views on the park. Its rooms are maintained clean and have electricity for lighting and charging electronics.

Additionally, Ruhija Gorilla Mist camp also offers a relatively flat camping ground where guests can setup tents for the night. Meals and drinks are available here including both soft and alcoholic drinks.

The camp has very helpful and friendly members of staff who are ready to attend to individual guests’ queries.

Trekkers Tavern cottage

With a strategic location on top of hill that permits monitoring views of the park below and above, Trekkers Tavern Cottage remains one of the incredible sleepover points for Gorilla trekking Safari travelers.

It is located in the park’s Ruhija sector which is home to the Kyaguriro, Oruzogo and Bitukura mountain gorilla families.

Lodging is offered in five (5) relaxed eco-cottages which all feature modern washrooms facilities with cold and hot water and modern flush toilets.

The knowledgeable and very friendly staff members ensure that all tourists are happy and are attended to in the best way possible.

Gift of Nature Lodge

This is one lodge whose name fits perfectly. The lodge has beautiful traditional-built rooms in three types: single, double and twin rooms.

All the rooms are self-contained and have comfortable beds and very clean modern bathrooms. Meals are served at the lodge in its onsite restaurant and dining area.

In addition to the gorilla tracking activity, tourists can enjoy other activities like Nyabiiha community walk, the Kitaba community bicycle ride and hill view tour.

Before tourists leave the lodge, they will most definitely love to participate in the Ekome – Cultural and Information Education Campfire which involves a lot of storytelling and interesting traditional music.

This lodge is situated in the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is owned and managed by Asyanut Limited.

Guests are accommodated in the eight (8) en-suite cottages which offer remarkable views of the Bwindi Impenetrable forest and the Virunga volcanoes.

The rooms have comfortable beds with an extra blanket and hot and cold overhead showers in en-suite bathrooms.

This lodge is located just 500 meters from the briefing point for tourists who track gorillas along the Ruhija trail head including mountain gorilla families like Bitukura and Oruzogo.

The resort &campsite features fine restaurant, a well-stocked bar, a travel/tour desk, a gift shop and it offers laundry services to guests who need them.

The rooms are self-catering with facilities and services like a fireplace, fans, private bathrooms with running cold and hot water.

 Ruhija Community Rest Camp

The Rest Camp was founded and is managed by members of the local community. It is located opposite the Institute of Tropical Forests Conservation which is near Uganda Wildlife Authority’s (UWA’s) office for the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Guests are housed in four (4) self-contained cottages (each with double beds); two (2) cottages with twin beds; and two (2) self – camping grounds for travellers who prefer the cheaper but more thrilling camping alternative.
