This 7 days Uganda wildlife safari takes to Queen Elizabeth National Park with its counts of wildlife including the elephants, lions, leopard, buffaloes, antelopes, Nile crocodile, Hippos among others.

You will hike the Rwenzori Mountains with its snowcapped peaks, visit Kibale National Park to see counts of primates (to a tune of 13 species) including Chimpanzees dubbed the primate capital of the world then finalise with a wild game viewing tour in the Murchison Falls National Park with its Nile River, the powerful Murchison falls, Rothschild giraffes, Jackson’s Hartebeest among others.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Make a stop at Uganda Equator Crossing Kayabwe and Traditional Lunch at Igongo Cultural Center

Following your breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you will embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwest of Uganda at 417km about 7 hours’ drive.

The drive to the southwest of the country will see you make the first stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe 72km from Kampala to encounter the world’s main latitude that marks the point of divide between the south and north spheres.

The amazing photos can be taken with each leg in a different hemisphere.

A water experiment is also carried out to ascertain the geographical divide between the southern and northern hemisphere.

After this encounter, you will continue on the drive in the direction of Bwindi driving past the traditional rangelands of Ankole with impressive scenery and the views of cattle both long-horned and Friesian grazing in this savannah rangeland.

The sights of Burchell’s Zebras and Impala straying from the adjacent Lake Mburo National Park may also be encountered as they graze along with the cows.

Make another stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km to Mbarara town for a traditional lunch buffet exploring the local cuisine in detail.

After lunch, you continue on the drive arriving in Queen Elizabeth in the evening, checking in at your lodge, relaxing and have dinner and then overnight.

Day 2: Do Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise Along The Paradise of Hippos And Transfer to Kasese

 7 Days Uganda Safari TourAfter an early morning cup of coffee, embark on the drive through the impressive rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth in search of wild game.

The stretch to the Kasenyi plains where the mating ground is found offers you opportunities of encountering a range of wild game including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and Kobs along with predators like lions, leopards and jackals.

The game drive takes 3 – 4 hours and you get back to the lodge after the activity for relaxation and lunch after which you connect to Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise.

The Kazinga Channel boat commences at 2 pm and 4 pm for the Marasa boats and 3 pm and 5 pm for the UWA boats.

The cruise offers you opportunities of spotting Hippos and Nile Crocodiles and other counts of wild game that come to quench their thirst on the channel side.

Return for the activity and transfer to Kasese for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Do Whole day Mount Rwenzori Hiking and Transfer to Kibale NP

After breakfast, embark on the whole day exploration of the legendary mountains of the moon – the Rwenzori Mountains towering to 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks.

The day’s adventure is a thrilling encounter of the mountain foothills exploring its lush flora that have earned it a status as a world heritage site. Mount Rwenzori stands as the tallest mountain range in Africa since Kilimanjaro and Kenya are free-standing. Retreat from the activity and transfer to Kibale National Park via Rwimi for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Do Morning Chimpanzee Trekking and Afternoon Bigodi wetland walk

7 Days Uganda Safari TourAfter breakfast, gather at Kanyanchu Tourism Center at 8 am to catch up with the briefing session about the chimpanzee trekking experience.

After the briefing, you head to the forest of Kibale in search of common Chimpanzees.

Hiking through amazing forest landscapes marked with lush flora which is inhabited by a range of bird species, and wildlife including other 12 primate species such as Black and white colobus monkeys.

The chimp trek takes 2 – 5 hours and involves one full hour of direct encounter with chimps as they forage, play, make pant hooting calls and socialize.

Retreat from the activity and return to the starting point.     You enjoy your packed lunch and then embark on the transfer to Bigodi Wetland for an afternoon walk.

The 2 hours guided walk exposes to a range of bird species as the wetland has 138 bird species including the Great Blue Turaco.

The wetland also has impressive swamp animals like Sitatunga Antelope. Retreat from the activity and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 5:  Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Whole Day Drive

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Murchison Falls National Park 441km about 9 hours’ drive. It is a whole day encounter in the wilderness exploring Uganda’s rural landscapes dotted with local homesteads and farms.

You will arrive in Murchison Falls National Park in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Do Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Launch Cruise and Hike to The Top of The Falls

7 Days Uganda Safari TourAfter an early morning cup of tea at the lodge, head to the park for a morning game drive which tends to last 3 – 4 hours exploring the park’s wilderness in detail.

The activity is conducted in the northern section of the park which is a common dwelling ground for counts of wildlife including lions, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, elephants, Buffaloes, Jackson Hartebeest, Oribis, Kobs among others.

Retreat from the activity back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you gather at Paraa Jetty for an afternoon Nile launch cruise departing at 2 pm to the bottom of the falls.

The boat offers you opportunities of encountering Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and the vulnerable shoebill stork not forgetting other wild game drinking water on the river banks.

The stretch to the bottom of the falls and the eventual hike to the top of the falls exposes to the thunderous roar of the Nile River which is the longest in the world as it squeezes its self to pass through a less than 8m ravine forming a plume of spray marked by a trademark rainbow as it falls 43m below to what has been termed as the Devil’s Cauldron. Retire from the 3-hour activity for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala. Track White Rhinos in Ziwa Sanctuary En-route

After breakfast, embark on the transfer back to Kampala 311km about 5 hours’ drive. You will branch off at Nakitooma 7km to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to have an opportunity of encountering white Rhinos thriving in the rolling savannah thicket of Ziwa.

These gigantic species will mark the fulfilment of the Big five dream. Have lunch in Ziwa after which you embark on the drive to Kampala arriving in the evening.
