Uganda Entry, Exit And Visa Requirements

Passport

To enter Uganda, you need to carry a passport copy that has six (6) months validity from the entry date. The East African Community Citizens do not require a passport to travel within the EAC block.

They are accorded an admissible temporary document.  The passport must have at least one blank page where they can put a visa stamp.

Visa

Uganda runs a reciprocal Visa programme. Thus, countries that do require Ugandan to secure visa before entering them, their nationals too are required to secure visa before entering Uganda.

The Ugandan Visa can be secured on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and any other boarder post. The Ugandan visa can also be applied in advance at the respective Ugandan embassies in the respective countries.

The Ugandan Tourist Visa for the foreign nonresidents is $100 while the resident foreigners are waived of the visa fees in the northern corridor states.

The Citizens of the East African community do not require visa if travelling with in the partner states.

Visa Exemption

The nationals of the following countries do not require visa to Uganda; Angola, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Italy (Diplomatic Passport holders only), Jamaica, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The nationals of these states are allowed free of charge to enter Uganda.

Visa Duration

The tourist visa for Uganda is valid for three (3) months and it allows to only engage on leisure and recreation other than work.

Vaccination
