Rushaga Area

Gorilla Safari Lodge

This Safari lodge is located on the boarder of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Housing is offered in eight (8) cottages which are solar-lit, have en-suite bathrooms that have cold and hot water and a warm fireplace.

The camp has a main lodge area which has a restaurant from which meals are served. The lodge also has a well-stocked bar, a lounge area and room for setting up a campfire.

Nyundo Area

Nyundo Valley Hill Bandas

This lodge gets its name from the Nyundo village in which it is found; which is only 6km from the entrance to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Buhoma.

It is owned and run by the local communities who offer an authentic definition of African definition of African comfort.

Housing is offered in five (5) individually secluded but highly comfortable traditional bandas.  The rooms include comfy beds with mosquito nets, a pit latrine which is shared among the occupants, clean bathrooms with cold water (heated water can be provided on request).

The meals are always fresh and are prepared by some of the best female cooks in the village. The lodging center has a crafts shop from which guests can purchase souvenirs and gifts.

There are a number of activities for tourists to do while here ranging from hikes and nature walks and lessons in traditional skills.

Being a locally owned establishment, the proceeds help to advance local livelihoods in Nyundo Village.

Rubuguri Area

Wagtail Eco-Safari Camp

This lodge is named after the Rubuguri village in which it is located. The camp is not so far from the Rushaga gorilla trekking trailhead and lies an hour away from Uganda’s border with Congo and an hour away from Uganda’s border with Rwanda.

The lodge’s facilities are built using locally sourced materials including stones and banana fibers which form the ceiling.

The rooms’ four categories are: the guest room, deluxe queen, junior king and superior king rooms which all in their differences offer comfort and luxury to gorilla safari visitors.
