The Kigali Convention Center

Hardly a year since the Kigali Convention Centre and it’s reaching for the skies. The spectacle situated in the centre of Kigali, the capital and biggest city of Rwanda has opened the country to the world.

The Coliseum is now among the top tourist attraction in Kigali as it has added to the beautiful skyline of the city and gives excellent perspective views at night.

1483130004kccrwandaThe Kigali Convention Centre structure erection was commenced in 2009 and completed in 2016. Among the aspects making Kigali a more sought over venue for top notch events is its accessibility from the Kigali International Airport; the main airport in the country.

It’s just a 10 minute drive with just 6km to cover. The real estate complex is comprised of four major units; The Radisson Blu Hotel Kigali, a Convention Centre, the Kigali Information Technology Park and a museum on the bottom floor of the IT Park.

The Radisson Blu Hotel is a five star hotel that has 292 lavish rooms with exquisite services that gratify their guests.

Private balconies and high speed Wi-Fi connection characterize the rooms with excellent room service. The hotel also has two onsite restaurants that offer excellent culinary delights.

Without further a due, we tackle the facility that’s taking Rwanda to greater heights. The Kigali convention centre has already hosted various international summits since its unveiling.

The convention centre can host up to 2600 delegates in its auditorium and up to 5000 delegates in its various spaces.

Among the high profile conferences hosted by the centre include the African Union Summit, World Economic Forum and Global Africa Investment Summit.

By reason of Rwanda Development Board  and Rwanda Convention bureau to upgrade its tourism potential through the  Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) strategy.

Kigali has instantaneously flourishing as a principal terminal for high profile events. In 2017 the centre is already scheduled to host the biennial International Conference on Cancer in Africa for which it won the bid.

The conference is organised by The African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC). The body looks to further research and support to oncology workers.

As we move forward into the year, all eyes are on Rwanda to see which other high profile events and guests they will be welcoming.
