Day 1: Arrive At Kigali International Airport & Transfer To Volcanoes National Park

After arriving at Kigali International Airport, your tour driver guide will be there to welcome you to Rwanda. Day 2: Do Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes NP & Travel To Lake Kivu – Gisenyi Beach For Relaxation

On day two of your 5 days Rwanda Primate tracking safari tour, you will wake up at 6 am and enjoy breakfast. You will then transfer to the park headquarters to meet your excellent local guides for a briefing.

At about 8 am, begin an unforgettable trek deep into the jungle through volcano forests alongside an expert park ranger/guide to search for rare Mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take anything from 30 minutes to 7 hours and it is relatively tiresome, so be prepared for a challenge.

But know that if you spot these gentle giant, human-like creatures (we share 98% of our DNA with them) it will all be worth it. Rwanda authorities are fiercely protective of this natural treasure, and you’ll be allowed one hour with the gorillas.

Retreat from the activity and connect to Gisenyi on the northern edge of Lake Kivu, the largest lake in Rwanda. Spend the afternoon unwinding on the sandy shores of this African Great Lake. Day 3: Drive to Nyungwe National Park. Drive via The Scenic Congo Nile Divide Trail

You drive driving via the Congo Nile divide trail which offers possibly the best opportunity to experience Rwanda’s remarkable natural beauty and marvelous scenery.

Along the trail, you will be treated to endless views of the tea and coffee plantations and panoramic views of the rolling hills. You’ll travel through a series of typical African villages with incredibly warm and welcoming people.

Day 5: Drive Back To Kigali. Visit The Nyanza King’s Palace & Butare Ethnographic Museum En-Route.

Proceed to Nyanza and visit the traditional King’s Palace replica, a beautifully-crafted thatched dwelling. Learn about the royal style and authority of pre-colonial Rwanda Kings. Meet the royal Inyambo cows on the site and herders who sing to them. Then, wander the halls of the simple, modern home of the country’s last king.
