The 3 day safari Queen Elizabeth Park wildlife tour starts and ends in Kampala and involves exploring the Uganda Equator crossing at Kayabwe, having a traditional lunch encounter at Igongo Cultural Center, the wild game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park including four of the big five land animals namely elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards. The park also supports chimpanzees in Kyambura extension, Nile crocodiles and Hippos in the 45km long Kazinga Channel and impressive scenic views of the Albertine rift valley and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 1 of the 3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe & traditional lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center  

3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park SafariFollowing your breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you will embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwest of Uganda at 417km about 7 hours drive. The drive to the southwest of the country will see you make the first stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe 72km from Kampala to encounter the world’s main latitude that marks the point of divide between the south and north spheres. The amazing photos can be taken with each leg in a different hemisphere. A water experiment is also carried out to ascertain the geographical divide between the southern and northern hemisphere.  After this encounter, you will continue on the drive in the direction of Bwindi driving past the traditional rangelands of Ankole with impressive scenery and the views of cattle both long-horned and Friesian grazing in this savannah rangeland. The sights of Burchell’s Zebras and Impala straying from the adjacent Lake Mburo National Park may also be encountered as they graze along with the cows. Make another stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km to Mbarara town for a traditional lunch buffet exploring the local cuisine in detail. After lunch, you continue on the drive arriving in Queen Elizabeth in the evening, checking in at your lodge, relaxing and have dinner and then overnight.

Day 2 of the 3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari: Undertake wild game viewing in the & afternoon boat cruise along the Paradise of Hippos – the 45km long Kazinga Channel.

3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park SafariAfter an early morning cup of coffee, embark on the drive through the impressive rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth in search of wild game. The stretch to the Kasenyi plains where the mating ground is found offers you opportunities of encountering a range of wild game including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and Kobs along with predators like lions, leopards and jackals. The game drive takes 3 – 4 hours and you get back to the lodge after the activity for relaxation and lunch after which you connect to Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise. The Kazinga Channel boat commences at 2 pm and 4 pm for the Marasa boats and 3 pm and 5 pm for the UWA boats. The cruise offers you opportunities of spotting Hippos and Nile Crocodiles and other counts of wild game that come to quench their thirst on the channel side. Return for the activity and the drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge.

Day 3 of the 3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari: Do morning Chimpanzee trekking in the morning & transfer back to Kampala  

After breakfast, transfer to Kyambura gorge in the eastern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee trekking activity. The Kyambura gorge which thrives below seal extending to 100m in depth has got lush tropical forest that is inhabited by chimpanzee along with other primate species. The chimpanzees are habituated and they would mesmerize you as they roll on their tree branches, as usual, play with one another and make pant hooting calls. The activity tends to last between 2 – 5 hours including the 1 hour of direct encounter with them. Retreat from the activity to embark on the transfer back to Kampala
