It also takes you to the mountain gorilla destination of Bwindi where 400 out of 880 mountain gorillas are known to be thriving. 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour – DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY.
Day 1 of the 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe & traditional lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center
Following your breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you will embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwest of Uganda at 417km about 7 hours’ drive. The drive to the southwest of the country will see you make the first stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe 72km from Kampala to encounter the world’s main latitude that marks the point of divide between the south and north spheres.
The amazing photos can be taken with each leg in a different hemisphere. A water experiment is also carried out to ascertain the geographical divide between the southern and northern hemisphere. After this encounter, you will continue on the drive in the direction of Bwindi driving past the traditional rangelands of Ankole with impressive scenery and the views of cattle both long-horned and Friesian grazing in this savannah rangeland.
The sights of Burchell’s Zebras and Impala straying from the adjacent Lake Mburo National Park may also be encountered as they graze along with the cows. Make another stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km to Mbarara town for a traditional lunch buffet exploring the local cuisine in detail. After lunch, you continue on the drive arriving in Queen Elizabeth in the evening, checking in at your lodge, relaxing and have dinner and then overnight.

Day 2 of the 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Undertake wild game viewing in the & afternoon boat cruise along the Paradise of Hippos – the 45km long Kazinga Channel.
After an early morning cup of coffee, embark on the drive through the impressive rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth in search of wild game. The stretch to the Kasenyi plains where the mating ground is found offers you opportunities of encountering a range of wild game including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and Kobs along with predators like lions, leopards and jackals. The game drive takes 3 – 4 hours and you get back to the lodge after the activity for relaxation and lunch after which you connect to Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise. The Kazinga Channel boat commences at 2 pm and 4 pm for the Marasa boats and 3 pm and 5 pm for the UWA boats. The cruise offers you opportunities of spotting Hippos and Nile Crocodiles and other counts of wild game that come to quench their thirst on the channel side. Return for the activity and the drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge.

Day 3 of the 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Do Ishasha game drive in search of tree climbing lions
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. En route in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park named Ishasha, you do a game drive in search of tree climbing lions the unique Species that are only found in this park in Uganda with another group known to be living in Lake Manyara National Park in the south of Tanzania. However, the low lying fig trees of Ishasha offers a close encounter to the tree climbing than any other part. You will eventually arrive in Bwindi in the evening for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 4 of the 5 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Undertake gorilla trekking & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a sunset boat cruise and relaxation
Following breakfast at your lodge, you will gather at the respective park headquarters in the region where you are going to track for briefing at 8 am. The briefing which is conducted by the park staff details the conduct of gorilla trekking activity and at this moment, the gorilla family to track is also allocated per a group of eight (8) people. The eventual heading to the mist is a remarkable experience that will form part of your lifetime adventure. The forest tends to be covered by mist in the morning and hiking through the forest is an amazing adventure that is worthy of your gorilla permit price. The activity tends to last between 2 – 8 hours inclusive of a one-hour direct encounter with gorillas. Encountering the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is remarkably wonderful. These frightening and yet peaceful creatures would definitely welcome with fear and the silverback would have to punch a little on his chest to check your fighting status. Your concentration will be on your cameras as you take as many photos as you wish without a flashlight to avoid provoking gorillas to react. Retreat from the activity when your time is used up and then return to the starting point. Upon reaching the starting point, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi driving through the fascinating highlands of Kigezi with remarkable sceneries. Arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon and relax a little at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling sunset boat cruise exploring the lake with its 29 islands that have earned it a dub as the lake of a thousand Islands. Retreat from the activity for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 of the 5 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari: Transfer back to Kampala.
After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kampala 437km about 7 hours’ drive. The drive will take you through impressive countryside landscapes marked with rural homesteads, cattle farms and banana plantations. The en-route small towns bustling with all sorts of informal businesses will make your way to Kampala. A lunch stop will be made at Igongo Cultural Center.
