6 Days Uganda Trip Safari Tour – Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda & Transfer to The Lodge
Arrive in Uganda through Entebbe International Airport on the shores of Lake Victoria which is the largest tropical lake in the world, the second-largest freshwater lake on a similar scale and the largest on the African continent.
After arrival, you will be welcomed by our courteous guide who will then transfer you to the hotel for relaxation and overnight.
Accommodation: Sheraton Kampala Hotel (Upmarket/Luxury), Humura Resorts (Midrange/Standard) or Buziga Country Resort (Budget/Basic).
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Do an Afternoon Boat Cruise
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the south-west of Uganda.
Drive from Kampala towards the west to Queen Elizabeth National Park fronted by the magnificent Rwenzori Mountain range while approaching the park.
Arrive at the lodge early for lunch. After lunch, you will drive to the Mweya jetty to catch up on an evening on the Kazinga channel at 4:15 pm.
This cruise offers you an opportunity to see at close range the highest concentration of water submerged Hippos, surrounded by over 550 species of migrant and resident birds plus crocodiles drinking and resting at water edges.
The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.

Day 3: Do Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge
The day starts with having breakfast, then embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks in the park.
You will have the possibilities of encountering cape Buffaloes, Elephants Topi, Kobs, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Hyena, Leopards, as well as the lions and lots of Birds.
The 3 – 4 hour drive derives a remarkable experience.
Retreat to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you will drive to Kyambura gorge to catch up with chimpanzee trekking in the afternoon at 2 pm.
You will attend a short briefing by the park rangers after which you will head to the gorge in search of these chimps.
The experience is very interesting as it involves sloping down the steep terrain of the gorge and again trekking back to the top.
The forest jungle which thrives below the sea level with a river flow on the gorge bed makes the activity go beyond mere chimpanzees.
Upon encountering chimpanzees, you will marvel at them as they swing through the tree branches, gather fruit and socialize not forgetting their pant – hoot calls which will leave you in a state of amazement. Retreat from 2 – 5 hour activity and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive Through Ishasha Sector in Search of Tree Climbing Lions
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (south) 309km about 8 – 9 hours’ drive from Mweya.
You will drive through Ishasha where you have chances of seeing tree-climbing lions that tend to lie on the fig tree branches overlooking their prey grazing on the savannah plains of Ishasha.
The range of other wild game can also be encountered. Proceed to the south driving through the fascinating Kigezi Highlands dubbed the Switzerland of Africa due to their cold temperatures and terrain before checking in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Do Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi For a Sunset Boat Cruise and Relaxation
Following breakfast at your lodge, you will gather at the respective park headquarters in the region where you are going to track for briefing at 8 am.
The briefing which is conducted by the park staff details the conduct of gorilla trekking activity and at this moment, the gorilla family to track is also allocated per a group of eight (8) people.
The eventual heading to the mist is a remarkable experience that will form part of your lifetime adventure.
The forest tends to be covered by mist in the morning and hiking through the forest is an amazing adventure that is worthy of your gorilla permit price.
The activity tends to last between 2 – 8 hours inclusive of a one-hour direct encounter with gorillas. Encountering the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is remarkably wonderful.
These frightening and yet peaceful creatures would definitely welcome with fear and the silverback would have to punch a little on his chest to check your fighting status.
Your concentration will be on your cameras as you take as many photos as you wish without a flashlight to avoid provoking gorillas to react.
Retreat from the activity when your time is used up and then return to the starting point. Upon reaching the starting point, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi driving through the fascinating highlands of Kigezi with remarkable sceneries.
Arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon and relax a little at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling sunset boat cruise exploring the lake with its 29 islands that have earned it a dub as the lake of a thousand Islands. Retreat from the activity for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
