Your 2-day Akagera safari in Rwanda begins at 7 am. Your tour driver guide shall pick you up from your place of stay in Kigali and take you on a very scenic 2-hour drive east to Akagera National Park.
Vegetable and fruit markets line the road along the way, and as you leave the city behind, banana plantations take their place.
Before checking into your accommodation, you will take a short game drive to spot some animals and take the breathtaking scenery.
The southern part of Akagera is the arrival point and offers you your first game drive. Expect to encounter some Zebra, giraffes, impalas, reedbucks, Baboons, Vervet Monkeys, etc.
However, the most exciting prospect in the south of Akagera is the Rhino! The rhinos live in this part of the park, which is their natural habitat, so if you are lucky, you may see them. After the game drive, continue to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 2: Enjoy A Full Safari Game Drive in Akagera & Transfer Back To Kigali City
Enjoy an early breakfast at 6 am, and then set off for the full 6-hour safari game drive in Akagera Savannah as the sun comes up.
This is the best time of the day to see predators and the sunrise over the Savannah is an unforgettable sight. Drive from south to north towards the beautiful Kilala plain in search of the Big Five.
Recent conservation efforts have reintroduced both the endangered black rhino and lions to the area. Today, young ones can be spotted alongside their mothers in the striking landscape.
